Ehsaas “Koi Bhooka Nahi Soye Ga” is an initiative of Federal Government to eradiate hunger in the country. This program is an extension form of the Ehsaas Langar Policy and aims to distribute cooked food to those in need, especially the hungry, at designated delivery points. This free cooked food facility is provided to all the laborers of Pakistan who are elders, daily wagers, women and children who have no access to Ehsas Langar near industrial areas and bus stations can get free meals through truck Langars.
In the initial phase of ehsaas Koi Bhooka Nahi Soye Ga program, the food trucks provide free food to the Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Peshawar.
The food is cooked, stored and distributed through Trucks. It is estimated that each food truck provides food to the approximately 1,500 to 2,000 people on daily basis. The food is distributed twice a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
On January 1, 2021, the Prime Minister announced in his New Year’s resolution that a plan would be implemented this year with a sense of urgency to ensure that Mulk Main Koi Bhooka Nahi Soye Ga. The program was launched in March 2021 from Rawalpindi to Islamabad. A month later, in April 2021, the program was extended to Lahore, Peshawar and Faisalabad.
In August 2021, the Prime Minister announced that he would expand the scope of the initiative “Koi Bhooka Nahi Soye Ga”. On the occasion, the Prime Minister also inaugurated four new food trucks in Multan, Gujranwala and Lahore. At that time, the food is being distributed in 7 cities by 16 food trucks.
Since October 2021, the scope of the program is being expanded more by 40 trucks in 29 cities. After the nationwide expansion, the food will be delivered to the 40,000 people daily and more than 14 million people annually.
Now, all the philanthropists and charities inside countries to contribute their donations in Ehsas Koi Bhooka Nahi Soye Ga program. The program is designed in a public-private partnership, with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal responsible for food truck operations and the Sailani Welfare International Trust providing food.
