What is a Ehsaas Nashonuma Program 2024-25

This is a conditional health and nutrition financial assistance program of the Government of Pakistan to overcome the problem of stunting in children under 23 months of age. The Ehsaas Nashonuma Program aims to provide the following facilities to control the problem of stunting in children under 23 months of age. The total budget of this program is about Rs. 8.52 billion. All funds for this program are provided entirely by the Government of Pakistan.

Under the first phase, the program started in August 2020. The duration of the program is three years. Since August 2020, the 50 ehsas nashonuma centers have been opened countrywide. The Ehsaas centers will be opened in every district. The financial assistance for deserving families will continue for three years.

If you are eligible for Ehsaas/BISP Nashonuma program and your child’s ‘B’ form has not been generated yet, immediately get the ‘B’ form from NADRA and enroll your child under 18 months in the Nashonuma program. You can also participate in 8171 Ehsaas Program 2023 and get Rs. 10,500 installment as financial support from the Government of Pakistan.

What is Stunting:

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), stunting is a developmental weakness due to poor diet and persistent infections. In Pakistan, high rates of stunting (40.2%), underweight (28.9%) and vesting (17.7%) indicates the ongoing food crisis in children. Stents negatively affect brain function, organ development, and the immune system, ultimately limiting productivity.

What is the Importance of Ehsaas Nashonuma:

In his first address to the nation, the Prime Minister highlighted malnutrition and vowed to solve this problem. Under the vision of PM Imran Khan, the Ehsaas Program has introduced a new conditional cash transfer (CCT) program called “Ehsas Nashonuma“.

Benefits and Facilities:

The provision of special nutritious food for pregnant & lactating women, especially children (under 23 months). The purpose of conditional financial assistance quarterly is to facilitate the health and nutrition services for consumers (Rs. 1,500 / – per quarter stipend for pregnant and lactating women and children and Rs. 2,000 / – per child for girls Quarterly stipend) Immunizations for pregnant, lactating women and children (under 23 months)

Note: Breastfeeding, Hygiene and Nutrition Awareness Sessions Prenatal / postnatal care every quarter.

Practical Implementation of Ehsaas Nashonuma Programme:

In the first phase, a pilot project has been launched in 14 districts of the country, which have been selected based on higher stunt rates and in consultation with the concerned provincial health department.

At the tehsil level, 50 Ehsaas Nashonuma Centers have been set up under which all health-related facilities and services can be provided in one place. The World Health Organization (WHO) has been hired as an implementation partner to carry out all program activities.

How To Track A Ehsaas Nashunuma Program:

At the Ehsas Nashonuma Center, deserving mothers and children will be registered in the program through the Ehsas Nashonuma Android application and tracked through this app. Moreover, distribution and consumption will be tracked through the recipient’s barcodes and serial number on the nutritious food packet.

Targets of Nashonuma Program:

In the first phase, registration of 221,000 households in 14 districts of Pakistan.
The scope of the program will be expanded based on the results.
